Last Wednesday (26th June) we took part in the annual Motcomb Street Party. The road is closed to traffic, local businesses head out onto the street, and we’re entertained by a disco, an auction and tribute bands.
This year we had Bee Gees and George Michael tributes – worth a celebratory glass of something, we thought!
We served our favourite savoury chocolate canapés: smoked salmon with cucumber and white chocolate, tomato soup with espresso and savoury chocolate biscuits, chocolate olive tapenade and tomato mozzarella skewers with chocolate balsamic dressing.
We also held tastings pairing chocolates and drinks: Santa Teresa Anejo Gran Reserva Rum with House truffles and our Grococo bar, Gonzalez Byass Matusalem Oloroso Dulce Viejo Sherry with orange and geranium chocolate and candied orange peel dipped in dark chocolate, and Liefmans Fruitesse Fruitbier paired with a red berry truffle and a 71% dark salted chocolate bar from Grenada.
The Motcomb Street Party supports various charities, including the Household Cavalry Foundation Fund, and we had a visit from some special guests…
Our thanks to everyone who attended and made it such a great day – see you next year!
