Mott’s Grenada chocolate travels by bicycle caravan in Amsterdam

At the weekend we shared the awful news that Mott Green, founder of the Grenada Chocolate Company and a dear friend, died unexpectedly.

Mott’s commitment to fair and sustainable chocolate has touched so many people, including a group of volunteer cyclists in Amsterdam who are bringing to life Mott’s dream of a truly zero-carbon chocolate by distributing the shipment to stores by bicycle.

The chocolate will arrive in Amsterdam on 13th June on the Tres Hombres, a 32 metre square-rigged Brigantine ship turned chocolate delivery boat. Early on the 14th a convoy of bikes organised by Erik Sauër (The Chocolate Man) will transport the chocolate to its final destination.

Take a look at this video about the caravan. We love the enthusiasm everyone has for this project, and know Mott was looking forwards to taking part and seeing his vision for truly fair chocolate shared.
