This weekend from Friday to Sunday the piazza behind Festival Hall on London’s South Bank will turn into every chocaholic’s dream when the Chocolate Festival arrives. It’s the perfect place to buy Easter gifts and learn from the UK’s most exciting chocolatiers in the Chocolate Cookery Theatre. We always love the Chocolate Festival because we get to meet so many of our loyal customers and can let people try new flavours, and it’s just that little bit warmer than the Christmas one!
Rococo’s founder Chantal Coady and Barry, our head chocolatier whose ganaches have just won 4 gold awards at the Academy of Chocolate awards, will be running 2 workshops at the event.
On Friday 22nd March from 16:00-18:00 Chantal and Barry will hold a mini masterclass where you’ll learn where chocolate comes from, how it is made and how to taste it before learning how to temper it and making chocolate-dipped marzipan hot cross buns.
On Saturday 23rd March from 17:00-17:45 they will demonstrate making praline-filled Easter eggs as part of the Master Chocolatiers Afternoon.
Tickets for the workshops must be booked in advance, and you can book online at the Chocolate Festival website.
At our stall (you’ll find us on the corner by the Festival Hall steps, right opposite Ping Pong) you’ll be able to buy everything from Barry’s gold medal-winning ganaches to workaholic hens to keep the kids happy. We’ll have all 15 flavours of Artisan bar available to try, including the Rose Otto and Sea Salt milk chocolates that won silver awards.
The Chocolate Festival runs from Friday 22nd-Sunday 24th March 2013, and you can get full details here.
