CHOCOLATE WEEK EVENTS PROGRAMME 8th – 14th of October 2012

Chocolate Week 2012 takes place the 8th-14th October, and we have events running through till the 17th October.

Throughout the week the Rococo shops in London and Chester will be offering tasters of our Autumn collection of chocolates, along with samples of our award-winning drinking chocolate and competitions to win copies of Chantal Coady’s new book. We will also be participating in a series of events throughout the week and our Kings Road shop will have its Choc-Tales installation all week.

Monday 8th October

‘Nothing like Chocolate’

UK Premiere of this documentary about The Grenada Chocolate Company and its visionary activist founder Mott Green. We will offer a tasting of the range of award-winning Grenada Chocolate Company bars, and the chance to purchase them.

Venue: Ritzy Cinema in Brixton.

Time: 7pm

A chance to meet Mott Green of the Grenada Chocolate Company and to have a guided tasting of his chocolate bars.

Venue: Rococo, 321 Kings Road.

Wednesday 10th October

CHOC-TALES from Kings Road

With Rococo approaching its 30th anniversary, throughout Chocolate Week the Kings Road store will be transformed into an interactive audio-visual installation with original memorabilia documenting the 4 decades of Rococo. The Choc-Tales evening will include a preview of the new Rococo Autumn collection, accompanied by cocktails and extreme Rococo canapés. .

Time:Cocktails and extreme canapés in 2 sittings 6-7pm and 7-8pm

Tickets: £10 (includes one cocktail and a selection of chocolate canapés)

Wednesday 10th October

Meet a Real Chocolate Maker

A chance to meet Mott Green of the Grenada Chocolate Company and to have a guided tasting of his chocolate bars.

Venue: Rococo 45 Marylebone High St.

Time: 3-5pm

Thursday 11th October

Chocolate and Wine Tasting

Led by our own expert sommelier Luciana Girotto and Principal Chocolatier Barry Johnson, you will be able to enjoy a selection of our award winning chocolates matched with a selection of still, sparkling and fortified wines. All in the heart of foodie

Venue: Rococo, 45 Marylebone High St.

Time: 6.30-7.30pm

Entry: £10 places must be booked in advance as there is limited availability.

For the whole of Chocolate Week the sumptuous Grosvenor Hotel where the shop is located will be serving one of the recipes from Chantal’s book.

Blindfold Chocolate tasting in the Grosvenor Hotels Riedel Cellar

For 6 winning couples of golden tickets. We are delighted that our Chester shop will be joining in the Chocolate Week fun! Sign up in the Chester shop for a chance to be one of six lucky couples who will take part in this fun evening.

Friday 12th October

A Chocolate and Cheese Tasting at our Chester shop

Including some original combinations to stretch your palette, these tastings have been a hit down in London.

Time: 6-7pm

Entry: £10 including canapés and a glass of champagne. £10 may be offset against the purchase of Chantal Coady Rococo’s founder and creative director’s new book Rococo, Mastering the Art of Chocolate

Saturday-Sunday 13th-14th October

Chocolate Unwrapped

One of the highlights of the chocolate year when all the UK’s top chocolate makers get together with selected international participants in one space. Samples, tastings and demos galore! There will also be another chance to buy a signed copy of Chantal’s new book: Rococo, Mastering the Art of Chocolate

Venue: LFM, 45 Wellington Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 7BN

Time: Saturday 10.30-7pm, Sunday 10.30-5pm

Entry: £10 in advance, £12 on the door

Saturday 13th October

Chocalligraphy Kids Workshop

Good clean (well, we’ll provide an apron!) fun for the children and a prize for the best Chocalligrapher!

Venue: Rococo, 5 Motcomb St.

Time: 10.30-12.30pm

Entry: FREE but places must be booked in advance as there is limited availability.

Saturday 13th October

Chocolate Afternoon Tea

Enjoy a selection of chocolate themed savouries, pastries, cakes and scones served with a selection of teas, coffees or hot chocolate.

Venue: Rococo, 5 Motcomb St.

Time: 2 sittings 2.30-4pm and 4.30-6pm

Cost: Introductory price £20 Advance booking essential as numbers are strictly limited!

Sunday 14th October


The highlight of the week, this will be a chance to experience the wibbly wobbly world of improvised opera performed by the brilliant Impropera, brought to you by Rococo Chocolates and Cadogan Estates for the benefit of the wonderful charity Kid’s Company! To be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

The ‘Love Bug’ Chocolate Bar in aid of Kids Company will also make its debut here. All profits from this and from entry tickets will be donated to Kids Company.

Venue: Cadogan Hall, Culford Room SW1.

Time: 3-4pm

Entry: £15 Tickets must be purchased in advance from Rococo as there is limited availability.

Monday 15th October

Chocolate themed dinner at Hardy’s Brasserie and Wine Bar

To cap off the week in style the 3rd annual 3 course themed Chocolate Tasting Dinner will be held at Hardy’s Brasserie & Wine Bar. Each course will be based on recipes from Chantal’s new book, followed by a tasting of 3 Rococo ganaches and dessert wines.

Time: Book signing from 6.30pm, dinner from 7.30pm, one sitting.

Cost: £25 including chocolate tasting & dessert wines but excluding other drinks.

Silversea / Mundy Chocolate Cruise Launch Party. Champagne reception and Rococo extreme Canapes.

There will be the chance to meet Rococo’s founder Chantal Coady who is hosting the Caribbean Gourmet Chocolate Cruise aboard Silver Whisper in November 2013.

Chantal will be on hand to talk to you about “all things Chocolate” and Mundy Cruising and Silversea will be in attendance to speak about the fantastic 10 night Chocolate Cruise which includes a 3 night stay in Barbados and ports of call such as Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire, Margarita Island and Grenada.
