Laurent Couchaux – Principle Chocolatier at Rococo Chocolates, voted Chocolatier of the Year

Chocolatier of the Year 2011The Academy of Chocolate Awards for 2011 ceremony took place last night and Rococo Chocolates are proud to announce that they won 10 awards.

Laurent Couchaux of Rococo, William Curly and Keith Hurdman were jointly awarded the title – they all won an equal number of Gold medals in the Academy of Chocolate Awards. Laurent is clearly delighted as are we, and warm congratulations to both William and Keith.

Our awards included 4 gold (2 Best in Category) medals and silver for our couture ganaches, which are handmade by Laurent (Prof.du Choc) and are only available in Rococo’s three stores, at these London addresses:

5 Motcomb Street,
321 Kings Road
45 Marylebone High Street

But don’t fret if you can’t get to their shops easily because Rococo Chocolates have plenty of prize-winners online, including their gold medal winning Sea Salt Milk Chocolate Artisan Bar. (It also happens to be one of the most popular in the range.)

Other prize-winners were The Cat That Got The Cream box, Their hot chocolate and the Basil & Persian Lime Artisan Bar, and we’re delighted that our friends at The Grenada Chocolate Company won a silver award for their 82% bar.

Of course your combination of flavours is like no other I’ve ever tasted Utterly divine … . but what the awards don’t say is what a fabulous person you are as well. Your teaching style is wonderful, you are a master and a gentleman. For me you are un Chevalier Du Chocolate.
