Chiswick artist plans to eat her own words – Hounslow Chronicle

A CHISWICK performance artist plans to literally eat her own words at a new pop-up gallery.

Rosalind Wyatt, of River View Grove, has created a ‘Gallery of Words’ at an empty shop in Mayfair, where visitors can sample her unique word art in chocolate form.

The 39-year-old has teamed up with Rococo Chocolate to try her hand at what she calls ‘chocalligraphy’, the product of which will be on offer to visitors at the gallery in South Audley Street.

“I just had this idea of eating your words and thought it would be great to try writing with melted chocolate,” she said. “People will be able to see us doing that and hopefully get the chance to sample some of the chocolate.”

Visitors can watch Rosalind’s ‘chocalligraphy’ in action next Thursday (June 9), from 6-8pm. She is also teaming up with theatre group The Wonder Club to create short pieces inspired by the texts and stories in the gallery. These shows will take place next Tuesday (June 7) and the following Tuesday and Thursday, also from 6-8pm.

Every day until June 18, from 11am, Rosalind will create a new text and there will be guest artists and demonstrations throughout the fortnight, including a voice-over of readings specially recorded for the event by actor Bill Nighy.
