Our new shop at Moxon Street in Marylebone is officially open!
Late last week we celebrated with a party, helped our by our new neighbours. The bar at The Marylebone Hotel infused cocoa nibs in brandy to create a delicious Cocoa Nib Berry Bellini for us.
Sam, the Moxon Street Manager, has been working hard on the move from Marylebone High Street to Moxon Street, which they were thankfully able to finish before the recent hot weather. Sam adores his new shop – ‘It’s my baby,’ he said with a grin.
James (Rococo’s MD) paid thanks to the entire team, saying that his unusually low stress levels during the shop opening were testament the hard work of Chantal and architect Mark Prizeman as well as the builders and the shop and warehouse staff who have brought her vision to life. He said, ‘I’ve had almost nothing to do with it, which I’m sure the team are even more pleased about than I am!’
Following the design evolution of our Chester shop, the new shop on Moxon Street is painted an uplifting yellow and uses a cocoa pod design on shelving units and lights. It’s full of the pattern, eclectic charm and attention to detail that Rococo is known for but is fresh and bright. Chantal was delighted with the new look of the shop, as was her friend Brian Boylan, chairman of Wolff Olins.
‘I love it,’ he said. ‘The colour moves it forward. I love the yellow, the details, the ornamentation. The brand could have stayed still but it’s constantly evolving, and this shop is the next stage.’
We hope to start demonstrations and tastings at the new shop in October in time for Chocolate Week, so keep your eyes open for details.
In the meantime, we hope that you’ll love the new look as much as we do, and Sam and the staff are looking forwards to welcoming you and making use of their pretty new sample drawers.
