The Vegetarian Cookery School is delighted to welcome Chantal Coady, ultimate connoisseur of chocolate and founder of Rococo Chocolates to Bath for a deliciously decadent “Day of Chocolate” on Sunday 30th September.

Chantal is recognised by The Fine Chocolate Industry Association (2011) for her outstanding service to industry, and as the creator of Award Winning organic, fair trade chocolates, that are ethically produced from the cocoa grown on her farm in Grenada. In 2008 she was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by The Academy of Chocolate for changing the way people think about chocolate.

Chantal is so passionate and obsessed about chocolate from as far back as she can remember. She recalls during Art school when offered a holiday job in the confectionary department of Harrods, thought she was given a dream ticket to chocolate heaven. At that time, surrounded by arguably the finest handmade chocolates in the capital, she dreamt this extraordinary delicious product had to be shared, and believed it had the power to transport her into becoming the owner of a chocolate shop.

In 1983, Chantal followed her dream: to share with others her love for chocolate, and opened her first chocolate shop on the Kings Road. Little did she know it wasn’t going to be the last! Now, nearly three decades, three books (chocolate of course!), three shops, and zillions of delicious chocolates later it is without doubt that she has shared her dream and love of chocolate with thousands of customers from around the globe.

Come and share Chantal’s dream and join us for A Day of Chocolate and see if she can change the way you think about it. The day will be a mixture of demonstrations, and some hands-on creative work. You will discover the facts and fundamentals of working with fine quality chocolate, experience and appreciate the difference between ‘fast’ and ‘real’ chocolate, master the art of chocolate tempering, moulding and sculpting and learn how to make mouth-watering ganache and chocolate truffles – all to take home and savour in the comfort of your home. .

The course costs £175 per person, including a seasonal lunch with organic wine, chocolate tasting, recipes and tips.
