Now in its fifth year, the Walpole Brands of Tomorrow mentorship initiative, sponsored by Mishcon de Reya, is designed to nurture and support the UK’s finest emerging talent within the luxury sector. Walpole is the British not-for-profit association that represents the Luxury Industry and its membership includes iconic brands such as Asprey, Burberry, Christie’s, Mulberry, Claridge’s, and Jimmy Choo.
Past successful brands to benefit from the programme have included Astley Clarke, Bremont Watch Company, Miller Harris Perfume, Shaun Leane, Wolf and Badger and Rococo Chocolates.
There is no cost to participate and, as you would expect, competition for places in the programme will be tough. To be eligible selected companies will need to demonstrate the highest standards of quality, style and craftsmanship and aspire to develop into full Walpole members. Key criteria required include:
- An annual turnover of more than £100,000, but no more than £2million
- An entrepreneurial management style
- A clear vision of the future of the brand Commitment to a two way partnership within the programme.
