Our Chocolate Week dinner at Hardy’s Brasserie in Marylebone on Monday sold out days in advance with people being turned away at the door. I’m not one to turn down a chocolate dinner opportunity though and booked early, so am perfectly placed to make you jealous fill you in on the results of the chocolate tasting.
The team at Hardy’s were charming and the food delicious. It would have been a lovely evening as it was, but afterwards we were treated to a bonus chocolate and wine pairing!
After dinner, staff bought out 4 wine and a port alongside a plate with 6 different chocolates. Rococo’s founder, Chantal Coady, talked us through their suggested combinations but encouraged us to try the wines with different chocolates and write down our thoughts. Head chocolatier Laurent was around too, talking to everybody about his incredible ganaches. At the moment we can only sell the ganaches in our shops and not online, but if you haven’t tried one yet they are well worth the trip!
