Start of the Apé charity challenge

[mappress]
On May 17th James Booth of Rococo Chocolates embarks on an ambitious journey from John O’Groats to Lands End (874 miles) in the firm’s Piaggio APE 50cc 3 wheeler tuk-tuk. The latter has never done more than 20 miles in a week before, used for occasional Rococo deliveries and chocolate fairs. This is all in a great cause – or three to be precise – for which James aims to raise £50,000.

APE is the Italian word for bee, and of course its one of the Piaggio family who make VESPAs which are wasps. The APE has the big body, like a bumble bee and is pronounced AH-PAY.
Oh and by the way Rococo will soon its own bee hive on the roof of our chocolate factory in South London – we LOVE BEES!

Thanks for the correction, I should have researched this some more – maybe worth an article in its own right some time? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piaggio_Ape
