It’s typical really, the moment that I leave London about a hundred launches to invites, events and so forth land in my inbox and I spend a substantial part of my day saying ‘no’ to people I really want to hug and say ‘hell yes’ to. The last two weeks have been like this so when, on Monday I got an email from The Botanist, a favourite haunt of mine for afternoon tea, I practically cried.
It seems Sloane Square’s loveliest restaurant and bar is holding a limited edition Chocolate Afternoon Tea this week, to celebrate National Chocolate Week. Now, I am a huge lover of afternoon tea and even bigger lover of chocolate so you can imagine how I feel.
The meal begins with chocolate chip scones and needless to say, Devonshire clotted cream, before moving on to confections like chocolate and lavender tart (drool) or for the traditionalists amongst us, chocolate brownie. Finally, there’s a selection of Rococo chocolates, all complemented by tea or a mug of, unsurprisingly, hot chocolate. If you’re feeling really luxurious you can upgrade to the champagne – heaven!
If you’re lucky enough to be in the vicinity then book up now; by the end of the week it’s gone.
