good web guideBBC – I am a total addict, radio especially, since you can now download the podcasts of the Archers and Desert Island Discs. I also love Test Match Special, World Service; Charlie Gillett was a particular favourite who will be sadly missed, and of course the dramas… I don’t watch TV but if I did, I am sure I would use the iplayer all the time too. There is something so liberating about being able to choose when you listen to or watch your program.

FT.com – Two of my favourite funny women write columns here. Lucy Kellaway is of course one of my World Service chums. The added bonus is the podcast. The other is Heather McGregor, alias Mrs Moneypenny

Fresh Ideas – This is a women’s networking and mentoring site, and I am currently a mentor to Kate Starkey who is establishing her business www.katestarkeycouture.com. Fresh Ideas run some great talks and events; it’s a brilliant website too with lots of good stuff.

Anthropologie – A beautiful site, quirky and atmostpheric, I have not actually shopped on it yet, but it’s very tempting.

Top Table – This is really useful if you need to get a table somewhere off your normal beat. I used it recently when organising a party for my 13 year old son at Twickenham, and did not have a clue where to meet. It was a great recommendation and we got a fantastic deal on the food too.
